Bluefoot Architecture & Design is headquartered right here in Poulsbo — our studio sits blocks from downtown Front Street and Liberty Bay, so a site visit, a framing question, or a meeting with the City of Poulsbo happens the same day, not on a ferry schedule.
Poulsbo is Kitsap County’s own incorporated city, with its own planning department and its own Shoreline Master Program governing anything near Liberty Bay. We handle that review process daily, as our home jurisdiction, not as a market we visit for a single project.
What our Poulsbo architecture and interior design services cover:

From first sketch to final walkthrough, we design custom homes around how Poulsbo families actually live — waterfront lots, wooded lots and in-town infill, all a few minutes from our studio.
Kitchens, baths, whole-home remodels and the interior finishes that go with them — we design the space and the interior together, so nothing gets bolted on as an afterthought.
Homes along Liberty Bay and Poulsbo's shoreline fall under the city's Shoreline Master Program. We design within those setbacks and critical-areas rules from the first concept, not after a rejected submittal.
From Front Street storefronts to office build-outs, we design commercial interiors and prepare the permit submittal set for the City of Poulsbo, staying with the project through review.
Accessory dwelling units let Poulsbo homeowners add a rental, house family, or gain flexibility without leaving their lot. We design ADUs that meet the city's requirements and fit the property.
We are not a firm that drives into Poulsbo for a project and leaves — this is where Bluefoot Architecture & Design is based. Our studio is a short walk from Front Street and Liberty Bay, so a site visit, a finish checked in the actual room light, or a question at City Hall happens because we are already here.
We have designed across Poulsbo and the wider Kitsap County waterfront — from exteriors framed around Liberty Bay views to interiors built around how a Puget Sound household actually uses a kitchen. Every Poulsbo site brings its own constraint — a slope, mature trees, a shoreline setback, the historic character of downtown — and the design starts there, not with a floor plan we already had.
Every Poulsbo project — architecture or interior design — follows the same five-phase process, refined through years of working with the City of Poulsbo.
We treat the client as part of the design team. Regular check-ins, clear milestones and honest communication mean there are no surprises when construction begins — and no scramble when the city asks a question about your submittal.
